I joined with two other artists in Valencia to hire a model with whom we enjoyed working. She is able to hold long poses. Over three hours I painted her in acrylics and later added the clothing and background. I took as inspiration for the background the landscape paintings of Van Gogh, with a twist.

Manuel in Vincent’s Room (Digital painting)
I painted a portrait of Manuel, one of the excellent models I have been privileged to work with in Valencia. I put him into my rendition of Van Gogh’s Room at Arles.
Go, Figures
Go, Figures
Go, Figures started life as a regular modeling session but in acrylics, not the usual way to go. It evolved into this. The background is inspired by František Kupka’s Mme Kupka (1910). He was a Czech artist and she his wife. I saw the painting at the Nieu Gallery in NYC, at a special exhibit that included some of Klimt’s famous paintings.
