Our friends’ one year old child on her birthday. We are born with so little knowledge. Its acquisition is part of what makes observing kids so fascinating. Here she is sitting before her birthday cake, too young to understand what it is beyond whether she likes it or not. She’s even too young to know to stick her fingers in the icing.
