How I do these digital paintings
I start with a photograph of the subject. I place it and a blank page on GNU photo editing and drawing program. I then paint the subject much as I would paint on canvas but I use a Wacom tablet and its stylus. Sometimes I use the stylus to pick the colors from the photograph but usually that does not help so I create my own, mixing colors together when I can not find them on my palette. It takes me about a day at least to do one of these paintings, much faster than when I use traditional methods.
